Kathy as consultant
Kathy has been designing and directing leadership-development programs and workshops since 2010, primarily for religious women and their associate members. She was the Director of the Mercy Leadership Development Program (MLDP), providing opportunities for younger Sisters of Mercy to gain leadership skills for Church, community and ministry.
Kathy was also one of the founding members and the Director of the Collaborative Leadership Development Program (CLDP), a coalition of multi-congregational, multi-national, and multi-faceted organizations seeking to educate and support women religious, their associates and ministry partners. The CLDP focuses on emerging leadership and ongoing learning for individual, Church, and global transformation.
Kathy retired as Director of the CLDP in December 2017, and currently offers workshops and retreats tailored for associates of religious communities. Her focus is on guiding various associates (lay men and women who partner with religious Sisters) as they explore new ways to express their respective charisms, while developing their unfolding roles as leaders in the world.
Kathy's current consulting areas of interest include the following: exploring personal growth and insight in the area of leadership; using contemplative dialogue to facilitate communication; exploring meaningful questions in communal settings; arriving at greater integration through mentoring, relationship-building, and collaboration; creating welcoming circles for small communities to reach consensus.
She often employs the art of writing and other creative means to enhance learning, understanding, dialogue and communication.
